Kallik’s customers span some of the most competitive and highly regulated industries including the pharmaceutical, medical devices, cosmetics and chemicals sectors. They include Sealed Air, Estée Lauder, Coloplast, Integra, Makhteshim Agan UK, Mary Kay and Paperhat, among many others.
What unites these organisations is the need to get new products to market quickly and efficiently, and exploit new market opportunities deftly and cost-effectively, while minimising the business risk associated with incorrect labelling on product packs.
This means ensuring all products and their labelling are fully compliant with the latest regulations in all target markets – a considerable challenge given how frequently requirements can change.
The following case studies illustrate the impact Kallik is having on real businesses today:
Danish medical supply company Coloplast is currently rolling out a comprehensive end-to-end artwork management system from Kallik that will connect multiple international production facilities. The software will provide full control of approved legal and regulatory labelling information, and manage all localised and translated texts for every target sales region. A clear line of sight across the whole process of label management means Coloplast will be able to maintain compliant, consistent, branded artwork and imagery across its multiple product ranges.
After implementing Kallik’s automated artwork generation solution along with two other software solutions, Estée Lauder has seen a 90% reduction in artwork production time, and has eliminated 75% of the manual touch points in a repetitive and iterative artwork process. It has also seen a 96% reduction in manual transactions when managing translations.
Integra Life Sciences
Integra Life Sciences implemented a Kallik solution in early 2012 and anticipates that the comparison tool will save a lot of time and eliminate errors when checking artwork files, while the ability to mark-up digital files with comments and notes will simplify artwork approval.
Diversey (now part of Sealed Air) has been using Kallik’s software since 2008 to manage its product labelling processes globally. The solution has been deployed in Europe, North America and South America, to be followed by the Asia Pacific region. So far, Diversey has reduced IT costs and generated savings of $150,000 a year; reduced external graphic generation costs by $350,000 and $500,000 a year in North America and Europe respectively; and reduced its average cycle time from up to a month to 1-2 days. In Europe Diversey is now positioned to manage labelling changes required in the forthcoming CLP regulations for hazardous substances across 6,000 products in 23 languages in a matter of weeks.
To improve production efficiency Unilever’s European Deodorant Division needed to relieve a labelling bottleneck. Since replacing manual processes with a highly-automated artwork authoring, development and management software solution from Kallik, Unilever has reduced its labelling generation cycle time by 98% and was able to clear a three-month backlog of 400 pending artwork designs in just a few hours.
