Kallik demonstrates unique solution for artwork management and regulatory compliance at Pharma Packaging & Labelling Europe

Kallik Artwork Management Solutions
12 Sep 2011

Kallik will be demonstrating its range of automated artwork management solutions at Pharma Packaging & Labelling Europe on 19-20 September in Munich. Visitors to the conference will be able to see these powerful software solutions in action, and find out how users are able to generate accurate print-ready artwork automatically, in seconds, from a database of approved content. Kallik will also be revealing new Business Reporting and Factory Labelling functionality.

Full compliance with regulatory requirements
Kallik’s Artwork Management System is based on a Structured Content approach and uses these fragments of data to generate artwork. The Kallik solution also manages the artwork approval process, version-controlling each element of artwork automatically. All approved files are time-stamped and archived, without the need for human intervention. This means that any regulatory statement is traced to every packaging component and piece of patient labelling, across the world at the touch of a button, wherever and in whatever language it appears, reducing the risk of recalls due to labelling errors.

Streamlining artwork, labelling and packaging processes
With Kallik’s Artwork Management System, the entire artwork generation and approval process is managed automatically. From the studio through to the print stages, it streamlines the process to make it more efficient and cost-effective, removing the inherent delays and reducing time to market.

Even greater flexibility
Kallik will be revealing AMS360’s new functionality at Pharma Packaging & Labelling Europe:

Enhancing business intelligence
A new comprehensive business intelligence tool overcomes the challenges of monitoring performance across the artwork creation and approval processes. By streamlining the management of all project-related data and displaying it graphically in real-time, this new functionality dramatically simplifies reporting and data analysis throughout the artwork management process.

With a wide choice of graphical displays and more effective utilisation of information, this business reporting tool increases visibility into all artwork creation, performance, projects and tasks. It provides a snapshot of critical information in real-time, including Key Performance Indicators, full project and task tracking and audit reports – all consolidated on one screen or dashboard. Neil Gleghorn, CEO at Kallik comments: “Monitoring performance across the artwork creation and approval processes often relies on inefficient methods for sharing and communicating information. This dashboard functionality offers unparalleled access to data for more informed decision making and mitigation of risk. Users are now able to identify and measure inefficiencies so steps can be taken to advance performance and emphasise quality management.”

New Factory Labelling functionality
Kallik has enhanced its factory labelling solution, extending access of AMS360 to production staff. An intuitive labelling interface enables users to combine variable data in an existing business application (such as ERP or PLM) with all the labelling information stored in the system, then print labels on the production line.  This means that, for example, LOT numbers and expiry dates can be added to other approved labelling information (such as highly sophisticated branding, imagery, legal, regulatory or warning statements) and artwork generated automatically from within one system.
AMS 360 handles all languages with ease, including Cyrillic, Arabic and Oriental languages.

The web-based system can be centrally managed so no costly local site upgrades are needed and access rights are carefully controlled.

Implementing AMS360 reduces the risk of labelling errors and consequently reduces the risk of costly product recalls. A full archive and audit trail is automatically created of the entire process.
