– Towlson committing the company to the Cloud to meet aggressive growth plans –
Tamworth, UK, January 11, 2016 – Labelling content management leader Kallik has announced the appointment of labelling solutions expert Alec Towlson as Chief Operating Officer as part of the company’s planned fiscal 2016 expansion plans.
Towlson brings 20-plus years of sales, pre-sales and operational management experience to the role, which has been created especially for him.
Most recently Towlson worked at Oracle Corporation (2010-15) dedicated to business transformation, partner alliance, and sales development initiatives within the Western European Sales/pre-sales Supply Chain team.
Towlson started his career in Packaging Operations Labelling Change Management. He then migrated over time into solution sales at Kallik working his way up to Managing Director, leading both the development and launch of the fledgling company’s flagship Enterprise Artwork Management solution, as well as driving work on the first enterprise version of its automated artwork black box technology.
Towlson’s return to the company has been driven by three important factors, he states. “I’ve decided to leave Oracle and go back to my Kallik roots,” he comments. “First, Kallik has a 15-year, rich heritage in the Software-as-a-Service, securing long standing Cloud customers and building up major credibility as a secure and low risk partner.”
“Second, Kallik has mature and advanced labelling automation capabilities as well as a genuinely bold and exciting roadmap in terms of additional tools to meet the challenges of data migration and M&A time-to-value initiatives.”
“And last, in my five year absence, Kallik’s Artwork Management Solutions have shown themselves to be truly complementary to any Supply Chain or Value Chain cloud transformation initiative, making them an increasing focus for company innovation.”
As Chief Operating Officer, reporting direct to the CEO, Towlson is responsible for spearheading Kallik’s ambitious 2016 growth programme, accelerating the launch of new marketing winning products around labelling content management. Specific focuses are new and exciting opportunities in data migration, factory labelling and advanced labelling origination automation, all based on the most up-to-date cloud standards-driven processes and concepts.
“The potential is truly exciting,” he notes. “The rapid growth of the company has never been more assured.”
Commenting on Towlson’s return to Kallik and the creation of the new office of COO, Neil Gleghorn, Chief Executive Officer of Kallik adds, “Alec’s considerable experience and solid track record in packaging and labelling origination, print and value chain solutions adds up to a very powerful package that sets us in an ideal position for a transformational 12 months.”
